As a coach and as an official, Bob Felasco took pleasure in teaching the game of basketball. Felasco graduated North High School where he played football and was an All-City basketball player. He went on to play basketball at Syracuse University.

Felasco, a parochial school coaching legend, enjoyed great success at three different high schools. He coached basketball and baseball at St. John the Evangelist and then Cathedral Academy. Felasco also coached basketball at Christian Brothers Academy. He compiled a career record of 328-108, not counting playoff and non-league games.

Felasco won four Parochial League regular season titles, six Parochial League playoff titles, two All-City crowns, four Central New York Cities League championships and three consecutive Section Three Class A titles in basketball. In baseball, he captured one City League title and eight Parochial League championships.

From 1956 to 2000, Felasco worked as a high school basketball official and he also officiated college basketball games as a member of Eastern College Athletic Conference.

Career highlights:

1942-1945: Played football and baseball at North High School, selected All-City in basketball

1945-1947: Played on Fort Lewis basketball and baseball team for two years while in the service

1948-1950: Played varsity basketball at Syracuse University

1950-1968: St. John the Evangelist basketball and baseball coach

1956-2000: High school basketball official, member of International Association Approved Basketball Officials local board #38

1968-1970: Cathedral Academy basketball and baseball coach

1970-1978: Christian Brothers Academy basketball coach

1969-1986: Officiated college basketball games, member of Eastern College Athletic Conference

1977: Awarded the Vic Hanson Medal of Excellence by the SU Hardwood Club

1990: Won IAABO Board #38 Silver Whistle Award for over 35 years of service as a basketball official

1993: Received the Blind Men and Criers annual Joseph Schwarzer Award given to an official who has been recognized for outstanding ability.
