The Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame is a not-for-profit corporation established in 1987 as a tribute to the men and women whose achievements in the world of sports have made Syracuse synonymous with athletic success and brought special honor to our community.

Since it's inception, the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame has honored over 150 individuals at our annual banquet held at the Drumlins Country Club. Plaques for each inductee are on permanent display at Driver's Village in Cicero.

The 35 member board are all unpaid volunteers. The modest costs (postage, supplies, etc.) and inductee awards are financed by individual donations and business sponsors.

We are always in need of funding to keep our programs, activities and events effective and moving forward. If you operate a business in the Greater Syracuse area or one that is associated with sporting activities, a sponsor relationship with the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame would be to your benefit. To associate yourself with GSSHOF in helping us continue to give recognition and award to Syracuse area teams and athletes, sheds a good light on you and your business and will be rewarded with dedicated patronage many times over.

Private Contributions

The Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame is structured as a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Individuals, businesses, or organizations wishing to contribute money in the form of gifts, in-kind donations, and pledges may do so by mail or phone.

If you’d like to give a gift, donation, or pledge simply download one of the files below, fill out the form, and mail to us. All contributions to the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame are tax deductible to the limits allowed by the Internal Revenue Service.

Corporate Contributions

Corporate entities that wish to contribute money in the form of gifts, donations, and pledges but don’t wish to become a Corporate Sponsor may do so by using the same methods listed above in the Private Contributions section.

In-kind Donations

The sports memorabilia collection at the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame has been acquired through the generosity of sports fans, researchers, teams, players and Hall of Famers. Donors are accorded special recognition and privileges.
