Jennifer Rhines
Inducted in 2000
A native of Liverpool, New York, Jen started her stellar running career at the 1989 Empire State Games. Jen then competed in cross-country, indoor/outdoor track for Liverpool High School. Jen was selected to nine all-league teams, was the Section III champion eight different times and their MVP nine times.
In cross-country, she was named to the States first team and was named Runner of the Year in 1991 and 1992. Indoor, Jen placed in the top four in the 3000 and 1500-yard events.
In 1992 to 1996, Villanova Universitys famed track program benefited from Jens performances in their 5000-meter races. In 1995, she broke numerous collegiate records for the 5000 and also anchored the Wildcats medley team. She became the first woman to win three concessive NCAA 5000 mete titles from 1994. An 11-time All-American, Jen won NCAA titles in cross country, indoor and outdoor track. She earned her degree in civil engineering at Villanova...married distance runner
Terrance Mahon on November 20, 1998…along with Mahon is a member of the Team USA Southern California training group.
She was fifth in the 10,000 meter at the US Track Championship in 1997 and won the Gate River Run 15K US Road Championship in 1998. She was second in that event earlier in 2000.
Jen took second at the USATF 10000 meter in New Orleans in 1998, fourth in the Womens 8K at the USATF in Winter Cross Country Championship in 1999 and was a member of the 1999 World Cross Country team.
Jen was a three time member of the United State Olympic Womens track and field teams that competed in Sydney, Australia, Athens, Greece and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
