David Chase served many years as president of the Skaneateles Polo Club, a place he started playing polo at in 1966. He was also a master and huntsman of Limestone Creek Hunt Club for several years.

A Syracuse University graduate, Chase was a late-bloomer in the sport of polo as he took up the sport in his 30’s. But it didn’t take long for Chase to excel at the sport. He eventually traveled worldwide to compete. Chase played on polo fields in Hong Kong. Mexico City and Dusseldorf, Germany. He played in over 30 National USPA tournaments.

Chase was the captain of the U.S. polo team that competed as an official exhibition event at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal. Chase, an award-winning industrial designer and the founder and chairman of Chase Design, went on to become a top senior polo player in the 1990’s.

Chase was the operator of Carousel Farms which developed horses for polo and jumping. He also founded and directed the Carousel Mounted Drill Team. He served as President of the National Museum of Polo. Chase was one of the first recipients of the Deacon Doubleday Award at the Syracuse Equi-Fair.

1991-1995: Won the U.S. Polo National Seniors Tournament five years in a row
