  • Born on November 27th, 1939 in Seneca Falls, New York
  • 1957-1958: Two time winner of Thorton Award for best all around athlete at North Syracuse High School
  • 1958-1961: Attended Syracuse University on a baseball scholarship
  • 1958-1961: Member of Syracuse University’s basketball team
  • 1961: Signed first pro-contract with Houston Colt-45’s later renamed the Houston Astros
  • Played 15 seasons in the major leagues
  • 1969: Pitched for St. Louis Cardinals
  • 1970: Pitched for Pittsburgh Pirates
  • 1971: Pirates won National League Pennant and went on to World Series
  • 1971: Voted Sporting News "Fireman of the Year" as the best relief pitcher in baseball
  • 1973: All-star appearance.
  • Finished his career with the Chicago Cubs on September 27th, 1977
  • 1998:- Inducted into the Syracuse Baseball Wall of Fame
