Carl Bjork

Inducted in 1999

  • 1945: Graduated from Manlius High School, all-county in basketball
  • 1954: Graduated from SUNY at Cortland
  • 1954: Started teaching at Jamesville-DeWitt and began as a two-year assistant football coach
  • 1957-1981: Head varsity football coach with 150-51-5 record, including two undefeated seasons (‘65-’68) and only two losing season. Team won six championships and shared league honors five times between ’58 and ’76
  • 1981: Carl’s finals season, JD Red Rams won the Section III Class championship.
  • One of the finest high school coaches anywhere to combine tools such as scouting and game films as coaching weapons.
  • Also coached wrestling and baseball teams and was an outstanding basketball official.
  • 2000 Inducted into the Jamesville-DeWitt High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
