David O. Chase

Inducted in 1999

  • 1954: Graduated from Syracuse University
  • 1966: Started playing polo and Skaneateles Polo Club
  • 1974 - 1991: Master and huntsman of the Limestone Creek Hunt Club
  • 1976: Captained United States Polo team in the Olympics in Montreal (polo was an official exhibition event at this time)
  • 1991 - 1995: Won the US Polo National Seniors Tournament five years in a row.
  • Other accomplishments: operated Carousel Farms developing horses for polo and jumping, founded and directed the Carousel Mounted Drill Team
  • Served as President of the National Museum of Polo
  • Has played in over 30 National USPA tournaments, one of the first recipients of the "Deacon Doubleday Award" presented at the Syracuse Equi-Fair
